Tips and tricks for healthy and shiny hair like a model?

Healthy and shiny hair in winter

The main difference between an average woman’s hairstyle and the hairstyles that you see in fashion magazines is the way it shines. The pictures of hairstyles you see in magazines is full with women with long thick hair and they seem to have all a natural shine. You may think that you would never have such beautiful shiny hair and this is partly true. The first thing you should know is that you, unless you are a model and have photo-shoots under the perfect circumstances, you probably will not have your hair as you see in the magazines.

This does not mean you cannot have healthy and shiny hair; you just need to know what is real and what is done with some special effects. Dull hair looks less healthy and absorbs light instead to reflect. It can also make the color lifeless and gives you the feeling that your hair is unattractive, where it actually can be beautiful with just a few simple tips.
There are many causes for dull looking hair such as; chemical damage, damage from styling with heat, improper styling techniques and even environmental dirt and stress.

Fortunately, there are a few tricks and tips for healthy and shiny hair:

Cold rinses

We all know that heat and moisture affects the shape of the hair shaft and that heat can cause swelling of the hair shaft and opens the cuticle. An open cuticle reflects light less and can let your hair look dull. But one of the easiest ways to let your hair shine again is to rinse it with cold water. You don’t need to take a cold shower you just rinse your hair with cold water. The cold water helps to diminish the hair shaft and closes the cuticle, so your hair looks smoother, shinier.

Natural rinses

There are also natural products that can be used in order to let your hair shine just a bit more, rinsing with cold water is great, but there are other simple techniques that can help a little bit more such as the use of vinegar as a final rinse after you washed and conditioned your hair.
You can add ½ to 1 cup of white vinegar to 4 liters of cold water over your freshly washed hair. The vinegar is acidic and acts as a counterweight to its slightly alkaline shampoo and conditioner. This helps to close the cuticles and makes the hair look shinier and healthier.

Shampoo Choices

The correct shampoo for your hair is another key element, dry hair tends to look dull, so make sure you use a shampoo that moisturize and is mild. Then use a moisture-rich conditioner and you will see great results.
